Walking with God: The Son
You've read about the Father who calls you home. This page is about the One He sent to walk you there Himself
Have You Seen Jesus Face to Face?
Maybe He came to you in a dream. Maybe He spoke your name, plainly, the way someone speaks when they already know exactly who you are. Maybe He appeared in a vision that rearranged everything you thought you understood. If you've encountered Him, you've met the second person of the Trinity… fully God, fully man, the Saviour of the world.
Who Is Jesus?
Jesus is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh. In Genesis, He was promised as the seed who would crush the serpent's head. Genesis 3:15
The prophets spoke of His coming long before He arrived: born of a virgin, from the line of David, in a town too small to matter to anyone but Him. Isaiah 7:14, Jeremiah 23:5, Micah 5:2
John wrote about it like a man who still couldn't quite believe what he'd seen with his own eyes: the Word became flesh and came to live among us, right in the middle of ordinary life. Those who saw Him saw glory — the glory of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
He lived a sinless life, taught with an authority that unsettled people, performed miracles, and revealed the Father's heart to anyone paying attention. He said it plainly, not as a suggestion:
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6 (NASB 2020)
Through His death on the cross, He paid a price you never asked Him to pay. God proved His love for us in this: Christ died for us while we were still sinners, not after we'd cleaned ourselves up. Romans 5:8
And through His resurrection, He conquered death itself: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day, exactly as the Scriptures had already said He would be. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Jesus Is Your Everything
Jesus is your Saviour, Lord, and Redeemer. He reconciles you to the Father, and He is able to save completely everyone who comes to God through Him, because He is always there, interceding on their behalf. Hebrews 7:25
He promised His disciples that in His Father's house there are many rooms, that He was going ahead to prepare a place for them, and that He'd come back Himself to bring them home. Not send someone else. Come back Himself. John 14:2-3
He is Emmanuel, God with you, Matthew 1:23 and He promises to return in power to establish His eternal kingdom, riding out as the rider called Faithful and True, judging and warring in righteousness. Revelation 19:11
The Jesus you encountered is real, and He came to you because He wants you to know Him.

People Who Met Jesus During His Earthly Ministry
You're not the first person to encounter Jesus face to face. People who met Him during His earthly ministry were never the same.
You're not the first person to encounter Jesus face to face. People who met Him during His earthly ministry were never the same again...
The disciples walked with Him, ate with Him, learned from Him, watched Him up close for years. John later wrote with something close to wonder about the One they had heard, seen with their own eyes, and touched with their own hands… the Word of life, not an idea, not a feeling, but a real man standing in front of them. 1 John 1:1
When Jesus Calls You Into Something Greater
Imagine Peter's moment on the Sea of Galilee. After a whole night of fishing and catching nothing, Jesus told him to let the nets down one more time. What came up was so much fish the nets began to tear.
Peter didn't celebrate. He fell at Jesus' knees and begged Him to leave — because he knew exactly what kind of man he was, and it wasn't the kind who belonged this close to someone like Him. Luke 5:8
But Jesus didn't leave. Instead, He calmed Peter's fear and gave his life a new direction: from now on, he'd be catching people instead of fish. Luke 5:10
One conversation with Jesus, and Peter was never the same man again. If He's found you, you won't be either.

When Jesus Sees You Completely
The woman at the well discovered something most of us are quietly afraid of: Jesus sees straight through us, every part we've hidden, and loves us anyway.
When He told her He knew about her five husbands, and the man she was with now who wasn't one of them, she didn't feel exposed the way you'd expect. She felt seen. She told Him she could see He was a prophet. John 4:19
When she brought up the coming Messiah, Jesus didn't deflect the way people usually do with hard questions. He told her plainly: the one speaking with her was Him. John 4:26
She ran back to her whole town, unable to keep it in, telling everyone to come and see a man who had told her everything she'd ever done. Could this be the Christ? John 4:29
Jesus knows everything about you… the parts you've said out loud and the parts you haven't. He still chose to reveal Himself to you anyway.
When Doubts Meet Reality
Thomas doubted the resurrection. Not politely. He said he wouldn't believe it until he could put his own finger in the wounds. Then Jesus stood in front of him and held out His hands: touch them yourself, stop doubting, believe. John 20:27
Thomas fell to his knees:
"My Lord and my God!" John 20:28 (NASB 2020)
That's what happens when you truly see Jesus. Doubt doesn't argue back. It just melts.

After the Resurrection: He Stayed to Prove He's Alive
After Jesus rose from the dead, He didn't disappear into heaven straight away. He stayed. He let people touch Him, eat with Him, ask Him questions. Proof, in the flesh, that death hadn't held on to Him after all.
He Speaks Your Name
Picture Mary Magdalene in the garden, crying, convinced someone had taken Jesus' body. She was standing right in front of Him and didn't recognise Him. Grief does that in people, it changes what your eyes are able to see.
Then He spoke just one word. Her name.
She spun round. Recognition flooded through her all at once. John 20:16
He knows your name too.
He Walks With You Before You Realise It's Him
Two heartbroken disciples were walking towards Emmaus, going over everything that had just happened, when a stranger fell into step beside them. He explained the Scriptures in a way that made their hearts burn, though neither of them could have told you why at the time.
It was only when He broke bread with them that their eyes were suddenly opened, and they recognised who had been walking beside them the whole way. Luke 24:30-31
Sometimes Jesus walks with you before you realise it's Him. You only see it afterwards, looking back.
He Never Gives Up on You
When Jesus appeared to the disciples in the upper room, He showed them His hands and His side first. Proof, before anything else. The disciples were overjoyed to see the Lord. John 20:20
He breathed on them and said simply: receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:22
Later, on a beach, He made them breakfast over a charcoal fire and restored Peter with one question, asked three times over, gently, until it landed: do you love Me? John 21:15-17
Jesus never gave up on Peter. Not even after Peter denied Him three times over a fire just like that one. He hasn't given up on you either.
Paul records that Jesus appeared to more than five hundred people at once. 1 Corinthians 15:6
He wanted no room left for doubt: I am alive, and I am real.

When Jesus Appears in Visions: Heaven Didn't Stop Him
After Jesus ascended to heaven, He continued reaching people through visions and supernatural appearances. Your encounter with Him puts you in good company.
The Persecutor Becomes the Missionary
Saul of Tarsus was hunting down Christians, dragging them out of their homes, when a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice ask him, directly, why he was persecuting Him. Acts 9:3-4
Saul asked who was speaking. The answer changed the rest of his life: it was Jesus Himself, the very one Saul was hunting. Acts 9:5
One encounter, and the man hunting Christians became the greatest missionary the world has ever known. That's not a small thing to sit with.
Ananias also received a vision of Jesus, who gave him the address itself; the street, the house, the man's name, no ambiguity at all. Acts 9:11
Even though Ananias was afraid, understandably, given who Saul was, he obeyed the vision anyway and became part of Saul's transformation.
The First Martyr Sees Jesus Standing
Stephen was being stoned to death when he looked intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, with Jesus standing at His right hand. Acts 7:55
He cried out that he could see heaven open, and the Son of Man standing there. Acts 7:56
Notice that detail. Jesus was standing, not sitting. He stood up to receive His servant home.

When Jesus Appears in Visions: Heaven Didn't Stop Him
After Jesus ascended to heaven, He didn't stop reaching people. He kept showing up, in visions, in supernatural encounters. Your encounter with Him puts you in good company.
The Vision That Opened the Gospel to Everyone
Peter received a vision that undid everything he thought he understood about who God was for. While praying on a rooftop, he fell into a trance and watched heaven open, a sheet coming down, full of animals he'd been taught his whole life never to touch.
A voice said simply: get up, kill, and eat. When Peter objected, on principle, the answer came back — stop calling impure what God has made clean. Acts 10:13, 15
Through that one vision, Peter understood Jesus came for everyone, not just people like him. The gospel is for you too, no matter where you come from, no matter what you were taught was too unclean to be loved.
Jesus Speaks When You Need Him Most
Paul kept receiving visions of Jesus throughout his ministry, especially in the moments that would have broken most people.
In Corinth, when opposition threatened to silence him for good, the Lord came to Paul in a vision with one instruction: don't be afraid, keep speaking, I am with you. Acts 18:9-10
When Paul was imprisoned in Jerusalem, the Lord stood beside him in the night with a promise: Take courage, just as you've testified about Me here, you'll testify in Rome too. Acts 23:11
Jesus shows up in the darkest moments. Not the comfortable ones. The dark ones. That's when He tends to remind you He's still here.
The Most Glorious Vision of All
John received the most overwhelming vision of all on the island of Patmos, exiled and alone. He saw One like the Son of Man, His face shining like the sun at full strength. Revelation 1:13, 16
The sight was so much that John fell at His feet like a dead man. But Jesus reached down, laid His right hand on him, and spoke comfort over him before anything else: don't be afraid, I am the First and the Last, the Living One, dead and now alive forever. Revelation 1:17-18
This is the Jesus you've encountered. Glorious enough to drop a man to the ground, and gentle enough to reach down and lift him back up.
Jesus Comes in Dreams
Dreams have always been one of the ways Jesus reaches people. Before Joseph believed any of it, before he understood any of it, he was given direction through dreams about Mary and the baby growing inside her. Matthew 1:20, 2:13, 2:19-20
Those dreams weren't a one-off. They established, right at the start of the New Testament, that God still speaks this way.
Today, Jesus continues to reveal Himself through dreams and visions, especially in places where people have never once heard His name. Many people, particularly from completely different faith backgrounds, meet Jesus in a dream long before they ever meet a Christian or open a Bible.
If this is your story, you're not alone, and you're not imagining things. You're part of something happening all over the world right now. These encounters are what lead people to seek Jesus out afterwards, and eventually to put a name to what happened to them.
It lines up with what He already promised: ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7
He showed up in your dream for one reason. Because He wants you to know Him.

Your Heart's Response: Worship
Worship isn't complicated, and it isn't a performance. It's what happens when you give your heart to Jesus and try to tell Him how much He means to you, even when the words fall short.
It's private. Personal. Something no one can take from you, no matter what else they take. In the secrets of your own heart, you worship Him who loved you first. 1 John 4:19
You can worship out loud in a packed room, or in total silence where no one else can hear you. Worship lightens a heavy heart and clears a clouded mind. Not because the circumstances changed, but because you chose to look at Him instead of at everything else.
It's the most natural response there is, once you've truly encountered Jesus.
Why Worship Matters
Worship matters because it's your response to who Jesus is and what He's already done, whether you ever say thank you or not. When you see Him clearly, when His sacrifice and love and faithfulness actually land, something in you has to respond. It doesn't stay quiet.
David wrote that he would bless the Lord at all times, praise always on his lips, no exceptions, not even on the bad days. Psalm 34:1
Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. Matthew 22:37
Worship is that love, said out loud. It's you telling Him He's worthy of all honour, glory, and praise, and meaning it. It shifts your focus off your circumstances and onto His character, off your weakness and onto His strength.
Paul wrote this from inside a prison cell: rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again — rejoice. Philippians 4:4
That's the part worth sitting with. He wasn't free when he wrote that. Worship isn't what you do once life is good. It's what fixes your eyes on the One who doesn't change while everything else does.
Why We Worship Through Songs
Throughout Scripture, God's people have always turned to song to say what plain speech couldn't quite carry.
Moses and the Israelites sang after they crossed the Red Sea. Not before, not during, but only once they were standing safe on the other side. Exodus 15:1-21
David poured his heart into psalms of praise, calling God's people to sing the Lord a new song, praising Him in the assembly of the faithful. Psalm 149:1
Paul told believers to speak to each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making music to the Lord in their hearts. Ephesians 5:19
Songs let you proclaim truth, remember what God has already done, and stand shoulder to shoulder with other believers, even ones you've never met. Singing pulls in more of you than talking does — your mind, but also your emotions, your body, your memory. That's why a song can come back to you years later, in a moment you actually need it, when you'd otherwise have forgotten every word.
In Revelation, we get a glimpse of heaven itself, where the redeemed sing a new song before the throne: worthy is the Lamb who was slain, who purchased people for God from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. Revelation 5:9
You worship through song because it's the language of a grateful heart, the overflow of actually encountering the living God, and a small taste now of the worship you'll share with Him forever.
So don't hold back. Let your heart sing to the One who came looking for you.
